WPF: How to convert Bitmap to BitmapImage

BitmapImage class of C#.NET can load images in a form of bytes, base64 or bitmap. Asmak9.EssentialToolKit library provides a rich method to convert bitmap file into BitmapImage class format.

Today, I shall be demonstrating method of Asmak9.EssentialToolKit .NET library to convert bitmap into BitmapImage class format using WPF application.

 

Prerequisites:

Following are some prerequisites before you proceed any further in this tutorial:

1. Install Asmak9.EssentialToolKit Nuget Package.
2. Knowledge of Nuget Package Manager.
3. Knowledge of WPF Application Development.
   
4. Knowledge of C# Programming.

The example code is being developed in Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 Professional.

Let's begin now.

1) Create new C#.NET WPF application and name it "ConvertBitmapToBitmapImage".  

 

2) Open "Tools\Nuget Package Manage\Manage Nuget Packages for Solution...".

3) Install Asmak9.EssentialToolKit Nuget Package.

4) Now, create "Views/HomePage.xaml" file.

 

5) Open "Views/HomePage.xaml.cs" file and place following lines of code i.e.

// Convert Bitmap to Bitmap Image method.
this.img3.Source = utilityKit.ConvertToBitmapImage(bitmap1);

...

The above code will convert provided bitmap to BitmapImage class format and set that format to the target image component on WPF application. You also need to initialize 'UtilityKit' class with or without your license key.

6) Now, execute the project and you will be able to see the following i.e.
